Austrian progressive heavy psych quartet MOTHER MORGANA have revealed all details of their upcoming album "Reflections of a Sunken Mind". Emerging from Graz's underground scene, the band have shaped the album around the social ruptures and psychological trauma caused by war. It will be released on November 27, 2026 via Argonauta Records on CD, colored vinyl and digital formats.

Continuing the heavier direction that became more pronounced on 2022's "Rise", MOTHER MORGANA bring together elements of progressive rock, psychedelic textures, stoner heaviness and cinematic songwriting on their new release. At its core, the album examines the effects of war on the individual, propaganda, and the struggle to preserve independent thought.

MOTHER MORGANA have built the concept of "Reflections of a Sunken Mind" around the social ruptures and trauma created by war, while analog synthesizers, vintage textures and a live-recording feel shape its musical atmosphere. According to the band, the album creates a narrative world centered on the clash between indoctrination and Kant's sapere aude call to "dare to know."

The album's second single, 'Relic', offers another example of this approach. Built around a rocking triplet groove, the track expands into a jazzy bridge and layers of slide guitar. The band say the contrast between the song's music and lyrics reflects the feeling of temporarily escaping the weight of the past within one's own lonely, safe place.

Following the previously released 'Janushead', 'Relic' is the second track unveiled from "Reflections of a Sunken Mind". The album will feature eight songs:
