STONED JESUS have released their second single ahead of their new album “Songs to Moon,” due out on October 16, 2026, via Season of Mist, accompanied by a music video. Titled “Jackal,” the track stands out as one of the clearest examples of the darker direction the band is taking on the album.

“Jackal” moves from a quiet, dark Alice In Chains-influenced intro into one of the heaviest riffs on the album. Although the song remains in 4/4 throughout, STONED JESUS describe it as the most progressive track on the album. Following its funk-influenced riff section, the song closes with a symphonic finale.

Vocalist and founder Igor Sydorenko describes the track as one of the most theatrical pieces the band has produced to date, noting that despite staying in 4/4 from start to finish, “Jackal” is the most progressive song on “Songs to Moon.” Sydorenko also challenges listeners to spot a line in the song quoted word for word from early MARILLION.

The lyrics revolve around a blunt question: what kind of future do you get when you sell your soul for comfort? The theme further reflects the shift toward a darker narrative territory on “Songs to Moon,” the second installment of the trilogy that began with “Songs to Sun.”

“Jackal” is the third track released from “Songs to Moon,” following the previously released “Under the Skin” and “Velvet.” The album will feature seven tracks and have a total runtime of 40 minutes and 53 seconds.

Originally launched as a solo project by Igor Sydorenko in Kyiv, Ukraine, in 2009, STONED JESUS will open a new chapter of its trilogy with “Songs to Moon,” following “First Communion” (2010), “Father Light” (2023), and 2025’s “Songs to Sun.” The album will be released via Season of Mist on October 16, 2026.
