TEMIC Announce New Concept Album “Ceiba”
TEMIC returns stronger.
International progressive metal collective TEMIC are set to return with their second studio album, “Ceiba.” The record is scheduled for release on October 2, 2026, via Season of Mist, while its lead single, “Ceased to Be,” has arrived alongside an accompanying music video.
The band's latest effort is built around a cohesive concept centered on loss and mortality. The album takes its name from the Ceiba tree, which holds sacred significance in Mayan culture as a bridge between the earthly realm, the heavens, and the underworld. Drawing inspiration from this symbolism, TEMIC explores the many stages of grief, transforming emotions such as anger, silence, guilt, and renewal into a unified musical narrative.
The album's first single, “Ceased to Be,” blends the technical precision of progressive metal with electronic textures, melodic hard rock, and contemporary atmospherics. Its accompanying video was filmed on Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula beneath a Ceiba tree and inside a natural cenote. Guided by the Mayan god of death, Ah Puch, the visual presents a symbolic story in which death is portrayed not as an ending, but as a spiritual transition.
According to the band, “Ceiba” features more adventurous progressive arrangements than their debut album, “Terror Management Theory,” while placing emotional expression ahead of technical showmanship. Drums and lead vocals were recorded at Lionheart Studio in Oslo, Norway, with Chris Edrich handling the mix and Pierrick Noël taking care of the mastering.

Originally conceived in 2017 by keyboardist Diego Tejeida and guitarist Eric Gillette, TEMIC has since evolved into an international outfit featuring musicians known for their work with Devin Townsend, Mike Portnoy's Shattered Fortress, The Neal Morse Band, Haken, Shining, Maraton, and Big City. After making a strong impression on the progressive metal scene with their debut, the band now aims to push that creative vision even further with their sophomore release.
Following the release of “Ceiba,” TEMIC will embark on a European tour this autumn alongside fellow Season of Mist artists KINGCROW. The run will take the band through France, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, and Poland, where they will perform material from the new album live for the first time.
“Ceiba” will be released on October 2, 2026, via Season of Mist. The album consists of 11 tracks with a total running time of approximately 66 minutes. Its lead single, “Ceased to Be,” is now available on all major digital streaming platforms.
