UNDER AUBURN SKIES Premiere “Final Sin”
Denver-based metalcore outfit UNDER AUBURN SKIES has released the music video for its latest single, “Final Sin,” ahead of the July release of its upcoming EP, Diminisher Of Hope. With this new effort, the band is preparing to present its darkest and most personal material to date.
Consisting of six tracks, Diminisher Of Hope delivers a harsher atmosphere and lyrics carrying a heavier emotional burden compared to the band's previous work. Working with multiple studios and producers throughout the recording process, the group set out to meet the contemporary production standards of modern metalcore. Mixing and mastering duties for the release were handled by Chris Wiseman.
The video created for “Final Sin” stands out through its cinematic lighting and symbolic storytelling. Directed by Jacob Eldridge, the production adopts a narrative approach that encourages viewers to draw their own conclusions rather than providing direct answers. Visual elements such as the confessional booth, in particular, serve as details that reinforce the song’s psychological depth.
Lyrically, the track draws from the personal experiences of vocalist Sebastian Gorklo. According to Gorklo, the song explores experiences shaped by family trauma, neglect, and feelings of abandonment. In this respect, “Final Sin” commands attention not only through its aggressive musical framework but also through the emotional weight it carries.
Following the July 17 release of Diminisher Of Hope on digital platforms and CD, UNDER AUBURN SKIES will embark on an intensive run of live performances. After the EP release show in Denver at the end of July, the band will share the stage in November with industrial metal legends Fear Factory and Darkest Hour.
Having steadily built momentum since the release of its 2018 album Afterimage, UNDER AUBURN SKIES continues to gain recognition within the American metalcore scene thanks to its powerful live performances and songwriting that balances soaring melody with crushing riffs. With the arrival of the new EP, the band is expected to reach a considerably broader audience on an international scale.
