Oakland-based blackened death thrash band VORLUST have announced their signing to Tankcrimes, marking the occasion with the release of a standalone single, 'Pleasure Drive'. The new track is now available on digital platforms.

Formed in 2018 by Marcelle Marais (Cunnus), VORLUST place the themes of violence, pleasure, sexuality and madness at the heart of their music. The band's own term for its approach, “beast metal”, accompanies a sound rooted in the intersection of blackened death metal and thrash metal. Featuring members of NECROT, DIPYGUS, BONESTRIPPER, NITE and VASTUM, the band also describes its live performances as a kind of purifying ritual.

In his statement on the signing, Tankcrimes founder Scotty Heath highlighted Cunnus's creative role and his longstanding relationship with guitarist Sonny Reinhardt. Heath expressed his enthusiasm at reuniting with Reinhardt on a new project after working together through NECROT for more than a decade. Their friendship, meanwhile, goes back 25 years.

'Pleasure Drive' is the first musical offering from this new partnership. Cunnus describes the track as “a speeding ticket into soaking wet ecstasy”, urging listeners to embrace its filthy atmosphere and turn up the volume.

The single is also available as a limited-edition 7-inch lathe-cut record, with a crystal-clear cut and square format, limited to just 100 copies. Featuring a full-colour, double-sided sleeve, the release can be ordered through the Tankcrimes online store.

Following the Tankcrimes signing, VORLUST are continuing work on their debut full-length, Wet With Filth, which is nearing completion. The album is scheduled for release in early spring 2027.
