ZERO HOUR Premieres ‘No Man’s Land’ Ahead of New EP
ZERO HOUR strips “No Man’s Land” down
California progressive metal band ZERO HOUR has unveiled the instrumental version of the title track from their upcoming EP, "No Man’s Land." The track received an exclusive premiere via The ProgSpace, while the band’s new release is set to arrive on October 16 through their own label, CynNormal Lab Recordings, on CD and digital formats.

Comprising two new tracks, "No Man’s Land" features the title track alongside ‘Codes Of Violence’, with instrumental versions of both songs also included. The release therefore offers alternate recordings that showcase the band’s technical and dynamic approach in its new era without the vocal layer.
According to guitarist Jasun Tipton, ‘No Man’s Land’ was the first song he wrote for the release, followed by ‘Codes Of Violence’. Tipton says he took a break after writing the two tracks, and that the music that emerged shaped the overall atmosphere of the EP. The guitarist particularly highlights the role of the rhythm section formed by Roel van Helden and Andreas Blomqvist, while noting that Jeremy Villucci’s keyboards also expanded the scope of the music.
The recordings for "No Man’s Land" feature founding member Jasun Tipton on guitar and Erik Rosvold on vocals. Bassist Andreas Blomqvist and keyboardist Jeremy Villucci complete the lineup, while Roel van Helden appears as a session drummer. The recordings were handled by the band, with drums recorded by Kai Stahlenberg at Kohlekeller Studio. Matt LaPlant handled the EP’s mixing and mastering at Madtown Mix Studio. The artwork was created by Wayne Joyner, whose credits also include work with Dream Theater, Ayreon, and Devin Townsend.
ZERO HOUR positions the new EP as a continuation of the band’s current era following their 2022 album "Agenda 21". Formed in the San Francisco Bay Area in the 1990s by Jasun Tipton and his brother Troy Tipton, the band released six studio albums between 1998 and 2008. ZERO HOUR dissolved after "Dark Deceiver", before being reformed following the reunion of Jasun Tipton and Erik Rosvold and the addition of Roel van Helden to the lineup.
The new lineup took shape after van Helden brought Andreas Blomqvist into the fold, leading to the band’s return with "Agenda 21" in 2022. "No Man’s Land" now continues this new chapter as the lineup’s next studio release.
