American power/thrash metal outfit Destructor are preparing to make their return with Tales of Glory, the seventh studio album of their career. The record is scheduled for worldwide release on June 19 via Shadow Kingdom Records in both CD and vinyl formats.

Formed in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1984, the band first made its mark on the underground metal scene with its 1985 debut album Maximum Destruction, gradually building a loyal following over the years. After enduring difficult periods and lengthy absences, Destructor managed to regain momentum through the releases they have delivered in recent years.

The band's new album, Tales of Glory, picks up where its predecessor Blood, Bone, and Fire left off while embracing a broader and more epic approach. Consisting of ten tracks, the record preserves the power/thrash metal character at the core of Destructor's sound while giving greater prominence to the anthemic elements of traditional heavy metal and speed metal.

It is reported that, alongside the current lineup, several former members also contributed to the songwriting process during the album's development. According to founding vocalist Dave Overkill, the objective was to create the strongest possible collection of songs. As a result of that approach, the album is being described as one of the most cohesive works the band has produced to date.

From a lyrical standpoint, Tales of Glory is not a concept album in the strict sense, yet it is shaped around a shared atmosphere. The songs unfold through themes reminiscent of tales passed down from ancient times, lending the record a distinctly epic character. With this new effort, the band aims to preserve the classic Destructor identity while expanding its musical horizons.

One of the first tracks unveiled from the album, “Harbinger of Death,” offers listeners an early glimpse into the fierce and heroic atmosphere that defines this new chapter.
