DOWN Gives Over The Under a Fresh Treatment
DOWN Reissues Over The Under
American heavy metal outfit DOWN has reintroduced its third studio album, Over The Under, widely regarded as one of the key milestones in the band's career, in a newly remastered edition. Originally released in 2007, the album has returned to the shelves with updated audio quality and additional content.
For this new edition, the album’s audio has been revisited by engineer Eric Koondel, who has previously worked with numerous metal bands. As a result, this significant entry in DOWN’s catalog has been refreshed in line with modern mastering standards. The release also marks the first official vinyl edition of the album available in the United States.
Fans will also find an extra surprise in the CD and digital versions. The track “Invest In Fear,” which had previously seen only limited availability, is now being officially released for the first time on a physical format in the US as well as on digital platforms worldwide. The album is available through Nuclear Blast on CD, vinyl, and digital formats.
Activity in the DOWN camp extends beyond the album itself. Earlier this year, the band unveiled its rendition of the Dr. John classic “Right Place, Wrong Time” in video form, and the track has now been made available across all digital streaming services. Serving as a tribute to one of the defining figures of New Orleans’ musical heritage, the cover once again highlights the band’s enduring connection to its roots.
Meanwhile, DOWN will remain active on the road throughout 2026 with a packed live schedule. The band is set to embark on an extensive North American tour this summer, sharing stages across numerous cities alongside Helmet and Spirit In The Room. The run will also see them appearing at events featuring major names such as Slayer, Lamb Of God, and Black Label Society.
The group will continue its festival appearances through the autumn and winter seasons as well, with confirmed slots at major events including Aftershock, Sick New World Texas, and Decibel Metal & Beer Fest. In particular, their performance in Denver stands out as it will mark DOWN’s first appearance in the city in many years.
Featuring Philip H. Anselmo, Pepper Keenan, Kirk Windstein, Jimmy Bower, and Pat Bruders, DOWN continues to unite musicians whose résumés include bands such as Pantera, Crowbar, Corrosion Of Conformity, and EyeHateGod. Recent statements from the band also suggest that further developments regarding new DOWN music could be revealed in the months ahead.
