EXTINCTION A.D. continue to maintain the relentless momentum they’ve built over the past few months. The New York-based crossover/thrash outfit have released their new track “Center Of Zero” across digital platforms. Accompanied by a lyric video, the song presents an atmosphere that simultaneously highlights the band’s aggressive edge and more emotional undercurrent.

Vocalist and guitarist Rick Jimenez explains that the new track is not solely shaped around anger or social tension, but also reflects the impact that friendships forged within the metal and hardcore scenes have had on his life. According to Jimenez, “Center Of Zero” stands as a more introspective piece focused on the importance of the bonds and solidarity built through music over the years.

On the musical front, however, the band refuses to compromise on sheer heaviness. The track merges crossover thrash, metallic hardcore, and groove metal into a cohesive assault that strongly recalls the heavyweight acts of the ’90s. Thick riffs, stomp-driven breakdowns, and gang vocals evoking the spirit of the New York hardcore scene form the dynamic backbone of the song.

“Center Of Zero” arrives following the band’s recent run of singles, including “Truth and Consequences,” “Thaw,” and “Dead Men Running.” Taken together, these four tracks make it increasingly clear that the band’s current era carries a harsher, more modern, and more aggressive identity.

Hailing from Long Island, the group has long drawn attention for blending the aesthetics of ’80s thrash metal with the raw hostility of ’90s hardcore. Known especially for their commanding live performances, the band continues to sharpen and solidify its identity within the modern crossover scene.

Following the release of the new single, the band is also preparing for a busy run of festival appearances and club shows across the United States.
