Bringing together metal music, winter sports, and a unique festival atmosphere in the Austrian Alps, Full Metal Mayrhofen is preparing to welcome music fans for its third edition in 2027. The first bands for the event, which will take place from March 29 to April 3, 2027, have been announced, while ticket pre-sales have also begun.

Set against the stunning mountain scenery of the Zillertal region, Full Metal Mayrhofen stands out with a concept that goes beyond the traditional festival experience. During the day, attendees can enjoy the ski slopes and the beauty of the Alpine landscape, while evenings are dedicated to powerful live performances and the energy of the metal world.

During the festival’s previous two editions, the town of Mayrhofen became a meeting point for metal fans from around the globe. From concert venues and ski slopes to mountain huts and events across the town center, the entire area became part of the festival atmosphere.

Jan Struve, Managing Director of Full Entertainment GmbH, emphasized that the event has become more than just a music festival, evolving into a special gathering place for the international metal community. Following the incredible response and atmosphere created during the 2026 edition, he stated that they are excited to continue this experience.

Andreas Lackner, Managing Director of the Mayrhofen Tourism Board, highlighted that the festival is a unique event where music, nature, and the region’s hospitality come together. Lackner noted that Full Metal Mayrhofen creates a powerful energy that reaches beyond visitors and influences the entire town.

The first confirmed names for the 2027 line-up represent different corners of the metal spectrum. Folk metal favorites Feuerschwanz, heavy metal legends U.D.O., crossover metal veterans Dog Eat Dog, and Italian symphonic power metal act Rhapsody of Fire are among the first announced guests of the festival.

The established festival format will continue in 2027. During the opening days, concerts will take place at Europahaus Mayrhofen, before the live performances move to the Waldfestplatz area later in the week. In addition, a variety of activities and side events in the Penken region will offer attendees an even broader festival experience.
