KING BUFFALO Release New Single “Ether on the Dark Side”
KING BUFFALO embrace a riff-driven direction
Psychedelic heavy rock trio KING BUFFALO have released ‘Ether on the Dark Side’, the latest single from their seventh studio album, “Doomsayer”, due out on December 4, 2026. Taking shape in the band’s own studio, the album marks their first full-length release in four years, following “Regenerator”.
“Doomsayer” emerged from extended jam sessions at the band’s new studio in early 2026, taking shape through improvisation and experimentation rather than a predetermined musical direction. Produced and mixed by guitarist and vocalist Sean Roa, the album finds the trio drawing on years of touring experience while adopting a more direct, riff-driven approach.
Sean Roa describes how the album came together:
“Doomsayer originated in early 2026 out of many hours of jam sessions in our new studio space, playing around and seeing where it took us. We didn’t really have an end goal in mind of what we were going for. So much has happened, both as a band and in our personal lives since our last record, and much of that ended up inspiring the lyrics on Doomsayer. I think, as a result, this is some of our most upfront, direct and riff-driven work to date. We are incredibly proud of it and can’t wait for it to get out into the world.”

built themselves, continuing the home-recording approach of their previous trilogy. Their new surroundings, however, have given KING BUFFALO greater freedom to develop and explore their musical ideas.
“Doomsayer” will be released independently in North America and via Stickman Records in Europe on December 4, 2026.
The album announcement also comes with details of the band's 2027 European tour. With SPIRIT MOTHER opening on all dates, the trek kicks off in Hamburg on March 2. The schedule includes shows in Essen on March 12 and Cologne on March 13, as well as stops in Stuttgart, Munich and Berlin. The European leg wraps up in Stockholm on March 21.
