Swedish heavy metal band OVERTURE have unveiled ‘Fading Away’, the second track from their upcoming mini-album “The Final Straw”. Featuring five songs and running for 24 minutes in total, the mini-album will be released by Dying Victims Productions on November 20 in CD and 12" vinyl formats.

‘Fading Away’ has been made available in full through an exclusive premiere on the Deaf Forever website. The track stands as one of the highlights of the band’s first substantial release with the lineup that took shape during OVERTURE’s 2026 revival.

The band was founded by Adrian Tobar in the summer of 2021. After assembling its first stable lineup, OVERTURE released “Demo 2022” the following year, quickly attracting attention within traditional heavy metal circles before beginning to play shows outside Sweden as well. Tobar, however, disbanded OVERTURE after the summer of 2023.

The band’s return came after Tobar had spent two years touring extensively with his own band, ETERNAL EVIL. After beginning to write new material, the guitarist and vocalist revived the project, resulting in the three-track “Overture” EP, released in early 2026.

“The Final Straw” is the first five-track mini-album to emerge from this comeback. Alongside Tobar on lead guitar and vocals, the new lineup features Marlon Nachsel on rhythm guitar, Wilmer Jansson on drums, and Adam Sjö on bass. While retaining the band’s traditional heavy metal foundation, the new material reportedly brings melodic and more melancholic elements reminiscent of DOKKEN and the early-’80s era of SCORPIONS, alongside the tradition upheld by HEAVY LOAD, OVERDRIVE, and GOTHAM CITY.

This approach allows OVERTURE to retain the traditional heavy metal character of its earlier period while moving toward broader dynamics. The five-track, 24-minute release will arrive on November 20 through Dying Victims Productions on CD and 12" vinyl.
