Pacific Northwest death metal outfit PARALICYST have released their four-track debut EP, "Destruction of Sanity". Formed in 2019, the band’s latest release brings together old-school death metal, thrash influences, blackened touches, and a slam approach within a traditional death metal framework.

Mikey Murderz, who also handles vocals, took care of the EP’s recording, mixing, and mastering. Joining PARALICYST in 2024, Murderz has shaped a new chapter for the band’s vocal approach while also handling the production of "Destruction of Sanity". The compositions were written by guitarist Ray Eversole.

The EP features four tracks: ‘Conjure The Flames’, ‘I Just Want You To Die’, ‘Paralicyst’, and ‘Blood In My Eyes’, with cover artwork by Benediktus Budi.

PARALICYST’s early lineup was built around guitarist Ray Eversole, bassist Nick Harris, and drummer Greg Kholer. Eversole has previously been involved with CRUCIATION and TORMENTIUM, while Harris has worked with DIGITALVIOLENCE, MONDAY WITH A BULLET, and IN THE NAME OF GOD. Kholer’s previous work includes GODS IN GRAVES and CRUCIATION, while the lineup expanded in 2022 with the addition of Lou and Lude on vocals.

The band cites death metal acts such as MALEVOLENT CREATION, OBITUARY, EXHUMED, MONSTROSITY, and JUNGLE ROT among its musical references. "Destruction of Sanity" draws from this lineage without confining itself to a single subgenre, bringing different approaches to death metal together across the EP.
