TELEPATHY to Reissue “Tempest” with Re-Recorded Tracks
TELEPATHY revisits its evolving sound
British post-metal quartet TELEPATHY are preparing to reissue their second album, “Tempest”, originally released in 2015, under the title “Tempest (Redux)”. Due out on 15 January 2027 via Pelagic Records, the special edition will feature a remastered version of the album alongside re-recorded versions of ‘Hiraeth’ and ‘Water Divides The Tide’.
Out of print on vinyl since 2018, the album returns with its production revisited and mastering handled by Machine, known for his work with CLUTCH, UNPEOPLE and LAMB OF GOD. Seana Reilly has also reimagined the original cover artwork for the new edition. The special release will be available in die-cut packaging, with vinyl editions offered in different colour variants.

TELEPATHY emphasise that the new edition is more than simply a reissue of an older album. The band explain that their studio experiments with synthesizers in the years leading up to “Transmissions” helped shape their musical approach, and that the re-recorded tracks reflect this development. ‘Hiraeth’ and ‘Water Divides The Tide’ will appear on Side D of the new edition.
Released alongside the announcement, ‘Water Divides The Tide (Redux)’ features an arrangement that brings out more instrumental detail than the original version. The guitars are clearer in the new recording, while the bass and synthesizer textures reinforce the track’s expanding atmospheric scope.
The band say they envisioned an atmosphere combining science fiction with Western aesthetics during the track’s initial composition. TELEPATHY note that the accompanying visual work reflects this idea, likening the track to the soundtrack of a sci-fi Western that brings Ennio Morricone’s instrumental approach together with metal.
“Tempest (Redux)” will be released on 15 January 2027 via Pelagic Records. Pre-orders are now open.
TELEPATHY will also play shows in Germany and the Netherlands in November 2026. Dates with Long Distance Calling include 22 November at Columbia Theater in Berlin and 23 November at Tivoli (Cloud Nine) in Utrecht.
